The Climate Sciences Department of LBNL has the following opportuniy:
Postdoctoral scientist to research the controls of soil organic carbon
cycling and how cycling varies with depth in the soil. The successful
candidate will help set up a field experiment and will use isotopically
labeled carbon substrates to study the effect of warming, plant inputs,
and microbial community on the transformation, mineralization, and
stabilization of soil carbon. Position available immediately.

Postdoctoral position in ocean circulation and global biogeochemical
cycles.*
The School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New South
Wales seeks a postdoctoral scholar to participate in research on ocean
biogeochemical cycles. The successful candidate will work with Mark
Holzer (UNSW), in collaboration with Francois Primeau (UCI) and Richard
Matear (CSIRO), on the modelling and analysis of the transport of
biogeochemical tracers, with an emphasis on nutrients and anthropogenic
carbon. The position is initially for one year, renewable for a second
year. The nominal start date is October 2012, but negotiable. The
successful candidate should have a PhD in oceanography or a related
field (e.g., physics or applied mathematics). Experience with ocean
general circulation models is desirable. Applications including a CV, a
statement of research interests, and a list of three referees should be
emailed to mholzer@unsw.edu.au.
