Qualifications and skills
The successful candidate is expected to have:
* A degree or post-graduate degree in meteorology
* A strong knowledge of European and UK geography (essential)
* Excellent communication skills
* The ability to analyse synoptic charts and interpret forecast
charts; this would be a distinct advantage, as would familiarity with
the climate of the British Isles
The successful candidates can expect an attractive remuneration package
together with a generous benefits package and 25 days holiday per annum.
MeteoGroup provides weather forecasting services 24/7 therefore
meteorologists are required to work shifts including weekends and
nights.
Please note that applicants must either be an EU citizen, or already
hold a valid UK work visa.

A postdoctoral position on the Detection and Attribution of Climate Change (D&A) is available at the French-Argentinean Institute for the Study of Climate and its Impacts (IFAECI), a joint international research unit between CNRS from France, CONICET and University of Buenos Aires from Argentina. The position is funded by CNRS for two years and is to be filled by 1 October 2012. See details in the attached file.
