WindFarmer Sales and Support Regional Manager

Location: Europe - Europe - with a preference for Bristol, Oldenburg,
Hamburg, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog, Copenhagen or Paris.
Travel Requirement: Some travel required to attend meetings, client
training courses and exhibitions.
Role Purpose
GL Garrad Hassan is the world's largest independent technical and
engineering consultancy for renewable energy. We are the recognised
global authority on onshore and offshore wind power and also serve the
wave, tidal and solar sectors.
Our WindFarmer software offers cutting edge technology in professional
wind farm design and analysis. We are proud to offer our clients a
wealth of know-how, packaged in a first class software product.
We are seeking an individual to manage and ordinate the sales, training
and technical support of our WindFarmer software within Europe.
Coordinating a regional team of engineers you will have technical or
direct line management and will be responsible for resourcing within the
region. Working closely with clients to provide effective solutions you
will also ensure a seamless and positive after care experience with the
client. You will conduct business development and marketing
activities, potentially within several countries, including presenting
to clients and representing the product at exhibitions. In addition you
will also run bespoke software training courses (internal and external)
and contribute technical expertise to the development team when making
enhancements and improvements to the software.
Person Specification
To be successful in this role, and our business, you will need to
demonstrate the following qualification, professional expertise and
personal attributes:
Technical / Professional Expertise
Essential:
* MSc degree in meteorology, physics, wind energy, renewable
energy or related
* Good general understanding of the wind energy market
* Comprehensive knowledge of the wind energy production assessment
methodology
* Knowledge of wind farm planning and permitting requirements
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to present to and communicate effectively with clients
* Ability to work under commercial pressure
* Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
Advantageous:
* Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency with WindFarmer software
* Experience of providing technical support and/or training for
WindFarmer
* Experience with customer contact in similar sales and support
position
* Experience with the planning process and environmental studies
* Additional European languages
There will be opportunity to travel within Europe and on occasion
worldwide.
Competency Requirements
The WindFarmer Sales and Support Region Manager is responsible for the
economic success of the sales and support team in the particular region.
You will manage a small team of sales and support engineers. Each team
members is based in a different GLGH office. The role includes both line
management and technical management responsibilities.
