Brief extract from the attached document:
We will conduct a study on two territories : La Reunion and a continental land territory. We will focus on day ahead forecasting. The intern should work both on numerical model and satellite imagery. For the numerical model, we use the WRF model, which enables a downscaling and provide a sampling rate in line with our expectations. For each of the areas, we will look at the forecast error associated with the numerical model and satellite imagery. This will be followed by an economic study to assess the cost of the forecast production. We should be able to draw a curve cost / accuracy depending on the granularity of microclimates. Duration: 6 months (early 2013) Location: La Reunion
