We invite a technician to work full-time (39.8 working hours per week)
in our Bioclimatology group at the Georg-August-University, Goettingen.
The main tasks include installation and maintenance of an eddy
covariance tower and automatic micrometeorological stations at various
field sites in Sumatra/Indonesia, supervision of local assistants,
quality control of data, and interaction with project partners.
The position is subject to final approval of the funding and will be
initially for 2 years.It should be filled as soon as possible. Salary:
Pay grade 7 TV-L of German state regulated public service salary scale.
Professional requirements:
- Professional education in environmental measurements, electronics or
mechanics
- Experience with meteorological measurements and/or programming skills
are a plus
- Willingness to travel regularly and to spend several months per year
in Indonesia
- Proficiency (fluency) in English; German and/or Indonesian will be
considered as an advantage
- Ability to carry out fieldwork under challenging field conditions in
the tropics.
Working place will be G?ttingen, but it is expected that the successful
candidate will travel several times per year to Jambi, Indonesia, and
spend there up to 6 months per year in total, depending on the project
needs.
