Toulouse/Meteo France, PhD Fellowship
Title:
3D-NAM-SCA: generic prototype subgrid-scale representation in atmospheric
modelling: a numerical development
PhD fellowship starting from 1st October is available with the deadline
of formal application by 30th April (contact: Nabuco de Araujo :
rodrigo.nabucodearaujo@univ-toulouse.fr)
in the domain of development for efficient numerical algorithm for
modelling of atmospheric convection.
The these is principally supervised by Jun-Ichi Yano (CNRM, Meteo
France/CNRS)
under a collaboration with Pedro da Silva Peixoto and Saulo R. M. Barros
at Department of
Applied Mathematics, Institute of Mathematics and Statistics,
University of Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil.
A student is expected to spend a half of the time at San Paulo during the
PhD project.
This project has an exciting opportunity for developing a completely
new type of numerical modelling for atmospheric convection.
In order to perform high-demanding tasks,
the candidate must have a strong mathematical background as well
as programming skills on numerical mathematical methods.
Interested candidates must contact Jun-Ichi Yano (jiy.gfder@gmail.com)
with their full CVs, statements of previous experiences as well as
their motivations.
[Contact can be made either in English, French, German]
