The UERRA project's main objective is to study uncertainties in ensembles of regional re-analyses. UERRA will develop and run an ensemble system of regional reanalyses for the climatological timescale. The project will provide long-term datasets produced in Ensemble mode using different models and methods.
The successful candidate will store subsets of every reanalysis dataset in the MARS archive in a common data format and establish services to provide access to them.
Please see the attachment for full details.

ECMWF is a partner in the EU-funded FP7 SPECS project (Seasonal-to-decadal climate Prediction for the improvement of European Climate Services), which aims both to help improve the quality of the next generation of seasonal forecasting systems, and to ensure better extraction and transfer of the information contained in model output. ECMWF?s involvement concerns seasonal timescales. It spans a range of scientific topics including the roles of stratospheric processes, snow cover, vegetation, and aerosols in seasonal prediction. Work will also involve improving the calibration and distribution of forecasts, which will build on ECMWF?s existing role in WMO structures and multi-model seasonal forecasting systems.
The main task will be to deliver the ECMWF contribution to this project. Duties can be found in the attachment.
