Dear colleagues,
The Centre for Climate Change (C3) set up by the University Rovira i
Virgili at the Campus Terres de l?Ebre in Tortosa, Spain is offering 1
position for Doctoral Grant in the field of Geography within the Programme
Mart?-Franqu?s on the topic
?Climate extremes in Euro-CORDEX simulations: current status and future
projections?
Supervisor: Constanta Boroneant

The duration of the grant is 1year, extendable to 3 years
Application deadline is 17th of June, 2014, with an expected start of
employment September 1st 2014.
Candidates interested to apply for this position should have several of the
following skills:
- MSc in Meteorology, Climatology, Physics or related fields.
- Programming skills in FORTRAN, Matlab, R, CDO
- Knowledge/experience with visualization and manipulation of climate data
(GrADS or other)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English or Spanish
- Experience with multivariate statistical tools and extreme techniques
analysis are of advantage
- Capacity to work independently and with other colleagues in a highly
collaborative environment will also valued

The aim of this studentship is provide training for a student in the development of
improved epidemiological models to predict the spread of vectored plant pathogens though
heterogeneous natural and agricultural landscapes by coupling atmospheric dispersion
models with stochastic, spatially-explicit, epidemiological models.
