7 PhD fellowships in Energy and Climate research @ Forschungszentrum J?lich, RWTH Aachen University, University of Bochum, University of Cologne, University of Wuppertal, Germany
The international graduate school for energy and climate research HITEC announces 7 PhD fellowships for doctoral candidates. Funding is provided for three years. In atmospheric research 13 projects and 2 research fields are open for application. HITEC (Helmholtz Interdisciplinary Doctoral Training in Energy and Climate) is a graduate school for scientists and engineers who want to earn a Ph.D. in the challenging fields of energy and climate research, and is a joint initiative between Forschungszentrum J?lich, the RWTH Aachen University, the University of Bochum, the University of Cologne, the University of D?sseldorf, and the University of Wuppertal. HITEC offers a 3-year training programme which fosters scientific and professional qualification. HITEC is committed to scientific excellence, to an interdisciplinary and international research environment, to an accepting learning environment which embraces diversity, and aims to turn the Ph.D. students into well needed experts for academia and industry.
Requirements
We are looking for highly motivated doctoral researchers. Candidates are expected to have a Master, a German "Diplom" or an equivalent degree, when they start their PhD project. The specifics of the degree and the experience required are indicated for the individual projects. The integration in national and international co-operations requires the willingness to cooperate in teams. We expect that you are able to communicate your results in oral and written form in very good English.
Selection
The best candidates will be invited to Germany for a week (16 -25 March, 2015) in order to work out the details of the project with the research group which hosts the project. Successful candidates will receive an email notification about the admission and invitation by the end of January. The final decision will be reached after individual presentations to the HITEC Advisory Board on 24 March. The earliest starting point will be May 2015, later starts are possible.

Visiting Fellow in Geography
The School of Geography, Planning and Environmental Management, The
University of Queensland is a vibrant, multidisciplinary School with
extensive teaching and research programs covering the fields of
Geography, Environmental Management and Planning. The Fellowship will be
offered for up to 18 weeks in 2015 (either in February ? June or July ?
December). Geographical Sciences has research and teaching interests
spanning human geography and physical geography including climatology
and meteorology.
Applications are welcomed from those with an established track record of
teaching and research. The Fellowship will be offered for approximately
14 to 18 weeks in 2015 (February ? June, or July ? December, centered on
Australian teaching semesters) and will include a maximum stipend of AUD
$10,000 for an economy class return airfare via the most direct route
from your home institution with the balance contributing towards some
living expenses.
