Dear Colleague,
I would like to bring you attention to three new postdoctoral
opportunities in Australia, as part of the Australian Research Council
Centre of Excellence for Climate System Science. These are 3-year fixed
term positions aimed at improving our understanding of the ocean's role
in the climate system.
1. Biogeochemical Oceanographer, Institute for Marine and Antarctic
Studies, University of Tasmania.
This position will focus on biogeochemical modelling in a high
resolution global ocean model.
Contact: Dr Peter Strutton, <Pete.Strutton@utas.edu.au> ,
<http://www.utas.edu.au/jobs/current-vacancies>
2. Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Fellow, Research School of Earth
Sciences, Australian National University.
This position will focus on the development of high resolution ocean
models for use in climate studies.
Contact: Dr Andy Hogg, <andy.hogg@anu.edu.au>
For more information see:
<http://jobs.anu.edu.au/cw/en/job/492788/postdoctoral-fellow-research-fellow>
3. Research Fellow in Physical Oceanography, Institute for Marine and
Antarctic Studies, University of Tasmania.
This position will focus on human influences on the oceans using
observations and climate model data. It includes research on ocean
boundary currents, ocean variability and ocean extreme events including
hotspot regions.
Contact: Professor Nathan Bindoff and Neil Holbrook,
<N.Bindoff@utas.edu.au> <neil.holbrook@utas.edu.au> ,

Postdoctoral research in atmospheric chemistry
A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the atmospheric
chemistry group at the University of Minnesota (www.atmoschem.umn.edu)
with Prof. Dylan Millet (dbm@umn.edu), starting spring 2015. The
successful candidate will employ a new high-resolution time-of-flight
mass spectrometer (PTR-QiTOF) to investigate the sources and chemistry
of organic compounds in the atmosphere. The work will include a
combination of laboratory development plus participation in atmospheric
chemistry field experiments.
Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant science or engineering field.
Analytical experience (either field or laboratory) with advanced
instrumentation is preferred. Please email a CV, a cover letter
describing research experience and goals, 2-3 representative
publications, and contact information for three references to
dbm@umn.edu, ATTN: Postdoctoral Search.
