The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) offers a 4-year position in climate modelling/analysis focusing on the role of the ocean in climate change. The successful applicant will diagnose runs with the global climate model EC-Earth, in particular, the NEMO ocean module and take a leading role in setting-up regional modelling of the North Sea Basin, using ROMS, eventually coupled to a regional atmospheric model like WRF to study circulation changes and sea level rise due to anthropogenic climate change.
After a successful evaluation the position will turn into a permanent contract.
The preferred candidate has experience with ocean and coupled models. Experience with ROMS and/or WRF would be an extra advantage.
For more details and how to apply, see the attached pdf.
Best regards
Prof. Sybren Drijfhout,
senior scientist at the department of Research and Development on Weather and Climate Models of KNMI.
