The Atmospheric Science Program in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee invites applications to our graduate program at the M.S. and Ph.D. levels. Both research and teaching assistantships are available for study beginning in Fall 2016.

Our program is led by seven faculty members with research specialties that include climate dynamics, cloud physics, air pollution meteorology, mesoscale processes, tropical cyclones, and related topics. Students benefit from fruitful research collaborations with the School of Freshwater Science, the first graduate program of its kind in the United States, and the Dept. of Mathematical Sciences, in which our program is housed. Our program emphasizes student development through a low student-to-faculty ratio and has been successful in placing graduates in gainful employment in academia, the private sector, and at operational forecast centers.

Application instructions, research highlights, and a listing of open graduate student research opportunities are available on our website, http://uwm.edu/atmo/. Prospective students interested in the research of a particular faculty member are encouraged to contact that faculty member to discuss specific research opportunities. Applications received by 15 January 2016 will receive full consideration for all available assistantships.

For more information about the Atmospheric Science Program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, please contact Prof. Clark Evans (evans36@uwm.edu, 1-414-229-4469).
