We have an opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic meteorologist to join the
forecasting team in our Birmingham office. The successful candidate will provide
forecasting expertise for decision support products and services for multiple clients,
to include but not limited to, internal customers, broadcast services, aviation, energy
and utilities in multiple locations, delivering product timeliness, accuracy and quality
to meet customer expectations. A large part of the work will be to provide written
briefings, blogs and graphical products to the media. You will support, interact and
collaborate with the other global operational meteorology groups at The Weather
Company with particular focus on any developing or potential severe weather events.

The University of Illinois<http://illinois.edu/> Department of Atmospheric Sciences<https://www.atmos.illinois.edu/> is the home of 16 faculty, 46 graduate students and 74 undergraduate students. The Department has been at the forefront of research and education since its inception in 1982. We offer a unique and varied program of graduate training and research, built around the fundamental scientific tools of our discipline: observation, modeling and theory.
