Postdoctoral opportunity in coupled physical-biogeochemical modelling of the Mediterranean Sea at the ECHO group (ecosystem and hydrodynamic modelling) of OGS (Italian National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics - http://www.ogs.trieste.it/en/), Trieste, Italy.
The successful candidate will work on marine biogeochemistry modelling research, including near-real time forecasts and multi-year reanalysis for the European Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Services, multi-decadal ensemble scenario simulations for climate studies, and effects of mesoscale processes on the plankton dynamics.
The research activities of the ECHO group (http://www.inogs.it/en/content/echo-ecology-and-computational-hydrodynamics-oceanography) span from numerical analysis to modelling of coastal and marine systems, covering also interdisciplinary aspects that range from marine spatial planning to the analysis of integrated eco-socio-economic systems.
The postdoc activities will involve development and application of methods based on high-performance computing, in collaboration with the national HPC facility located at CINECA.
