NCEO Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Data Assimilation
School of Mathematical & Physical Sciences, University of Reading.
As part of the National Centre for Earth Observation we are seeking an excellent research scientist to develop new mathematical methods for initialising environmental models using observational data.
Using variational methods and scientific computing you will develop and analyse new methods for assimilating data into numerical models. You will demonstrate the usefulness of these techniques by applying them to models of environmental systems.
This post offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of new mathematical research applied to environmental science.
This is a fixed term position for up to 2 years.
