PhD Studentship- Regional Earth System Model
Department of Physics
Imperial College London
We are developing a high resolution model which couples the atmosphere, ocean, waves, land, biosphere and sea-ice on a regional scale. This model advances our understanding of extreme events and the regional budgets of water, carbon and aerosol. The model is suitable for regional climate change simulations and other sensitivity studies. The core atmospheric module is WRF and the core ocean module is ROMS. You would be joining an active and growing group in Atmospheric Physics with several opportunities for international collaboration and travel. We are looking for a graduate in physical science, maths or engineering with at least a 2.1 Honours degree. Standard research council rules apply so only UK residents or EU nationals who have studied in the UK for the last 3 years can apply. The position is for 3 years and open as of now.
