Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher in Climate & Ocean Physics to join the group of Dr. Laure Zanna (http://www.atm.ox.ac.uk/user/zanna) within the sub-Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics at the University of Oxford. The post is available starting 1st October 2011 (or as soon as possible thereafter) for a fixed-term period of up to two years.
The position will be focused on using observations, theory and models to develop rigorous stochastic parametrizations of unresolved turbulent ocean processes (e.g., convection, upper ocean mixing) in climate models. The successful applicant will guide this research activity and is expected to develop original research strategies. The results should be presented at national and international meetings as well as published in peer-reviewed publications.

Atmospheric Scientist at Indiana University. We invite applications for a
tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Geography with a
specialization in atmospheric science. We seek candidates who can
complement or expand departmental strengths. Research and teaching
specialization is open, although applicants with expertise in mesoscale
modeling and dynamics are particularly welcome. A new multidisciplinary
science building has state-of-the art laboratories for
atmospheric-environmental scientists. The successful applicant will
establish an independent, externally funded research program and will teach

The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking a scientist to participate in
research associated with the development, evaluation and application of
the POAMA dynamical prediction system to a range of marine applications,
including coral bleaching risk in the Pacific. The scientist will
contribute to research on the mechanisms, predictability and causes of
seasonal variability in the marine environment and their representation
in the POAMA forecast system. The appointee will have a scientific
research background in physical sciences, preferably with experience in
climate variability or ocean modelling.
This position (reference number: 10337) will be part of CAWCR, a joint
research centre between the Australian Bureau of Meteorology and the
CSIRO (<http://www.cawcr.gov.au/>). The appointment is for 2 years at
the Professional Officer 2 level ($69,729 ? $78,157 per annum, plus an
additional 15.4% superannuation).
