The Climate Science Center at Texas Tech University invites applications
for a postdoctoral fellow in climate data analysis and downscaling to
participate in a multi-year project aimed at improving our understanding
of natural and anthropogenic influences on climate, and climate
projections at the regional scale. In this position, the candidate will
have the opportunity to work within an integrated group of faculty,
students, and federal employees that make up the new South Central
Climate Science Center, with expertise including atmospheric science,
computer science, conservation ecology, ecosystem science, hydrology,
statistics and water policy.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in applied mathematics, atmospheric
science, geoscience, statistics, or make a case for how their
educational background in a related field is appropriate for the
specific efforts required for this appointment. Statistical computing
skills using R and a relevant language such as C+, Python, or Fortran
and previous experience with data analysis are recommended. The salary
will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
