Opening for Experienced Meteorologist ? Birmingham

WSI Europe is a wholly owned subsidiary of WSI Corporation and a sister company of The Weather Channel companies including weather.com and weather.co.uk. WSI Europe is a leading provider of weather services to the European media, energy and aviation markets and to some global accounts.
To meet business growth we now have a new opportunity for a meteorologist to join our team in Birmingham providing forecasts to our clients. You should have a good level of operational forecasting experience supported by good theoretical knowledge of meteorology and of course a fanatical passion for weather.

With a degree in meteorology or a related science combined with hands-on forecasting experience, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously and deliver forecasts to tight deadlines. You should combine a strong customer focus with the ability to translate the day's main weather features into forecast briefs. Your oral and written communication will therefore be excellent, good data analysis skills are essential and you must be familiar with using weather-related software. WSI's forecasting operations service our customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and so you must be willing to work the required shifts.

We can only consider applicants who are already qualified to work within the UK. Please do not apply if you would need a work permit as we will be unable to consider your application.

A competitive salary together with an excellent range of benefits is offered including pension contributions, life assurance and ill health income protection.

Important: All applicants must be qualified to work in the European Economic Community and should explain how they meet this in their application.

To apply please e-mail your c.v. with a covering letter to Bill Craig at jobs@wsieurope.com enclosing an up-to-date c.v. and details of your current salary

Closing date for applications is 10th July 2012
