Dear Colleagues,
Can you help me post the job opportunity in your mail list? A pdf version is also attached. Thanks for your help.
Best Regards,

Postdoctoral Research Associate Position in Atmospheric Remote Sensing
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in atmospheric remote sensing in the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences at the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC).
The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary science team from TAMUCC, UCSD and UC-Davis, to develop retrieval/simulation algorithm for a state-of-the-art airborne Global Positioning System (GPS) radio occultation measurements. The second phase of the work will be collaborating with the modeling group at UC-Davis to evaluate the impact of airborne RO measurements in hurricane prediction through data assimilation.
The candidate should have a recent Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences or a related field; have experience with electromagnetic wave propagation and theory of optics; and possess excellent quantitative and analytical skills. Experience in spaceborne or ground-based GPS application is desirable but not required. Expertise in IDL, FORTRAN, and UNIX/LINUX shell script is also desirable. Candidates should also have strong communication (spoken and written) and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The position is available immediately with preference given to those received by February 15, 2013. The position is for one year, renewable for up to two additional years contingent on the performance and the availability of funds. The stipend is competitive commensurate with the experience.
