Computational Modelling Support Officer

The ARC Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Climate System Science is a
collaboration involving Monash University, The University of Melbourne,
University of Tasmania, University of New South Wales and Australian
National University. The Centre is built around five research programs
and a Computational Support program.

As the Computational Modelling Support Officer, you will contribute to
the Computational Support program in the specific area of atmospheric
modelling support. You will work in a team of five to assist users
across the ARC Centre of Excellence with:

* solving complex computational problems
* providing computational modelling support for the centre
* assisting researchers in scientific visualisation
* providing training to improve the computational skill level
throughout the Centre
* developing and maintaining relationships with partner organisations
* assisting in providing expert support for all Centre users.

To be successful in this role you will possess a degree in computer
science or other related discipline and have subsequent experience with
software development in a scientific environment. In addition, well
developed communication skills are essential.

Consulting Meteorologist - MetraWeather - Sydney

As Consulting Meteorologist your role supports key contracts with MetraWeather's Australian and New Zealand business customers, and supports our team on commercial meteorology projects. You'll be producing weather and climate forecasts, briefings, advice and training for customers, whilst also working on a range of projects including forecaster tool upgrades and customer data analyses.

To be eligible for this role you will be a credentialed and experienced Meteorologist with excellent written and spoken communication skills, and experience with meteorological data analysis. Ideally you will also have a solid computing foundation and knowledge of mathematical or statistical software for advanced meteorological data analysis.
