Postdoctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2, University College Dublin,
Mathematical Sciences
This post is within the MaREI Research Centre (www.marei.ie
<http://www.marei.ie>) funded by the Science Foundation Ireland from
2013-2019 to deliver solutions to the pressing technological and
societal challenges within the Marine Renewable Energy sector. MaREI is
a collaborative project between several partners: University College
Dublin, University College Cork, University NUI Galway, University of
Limerick, NUI Maynooth and Cork Institute of Technology.
The main aim of this particular post is the development of computational
fluid dynamics tools to predict impact loading on wave energy devices
and tidal current devices, and nearshore wave and current forecasting
software. The candidate will use both direct numerical simulations of
the free surface Euler equations and third generation wave models such
as Wavewatch III.
Appointment will be made at either Post Doc level 1 or Post Doc level 2
depending on qualifications and experience of the recommended candidate.
