National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) ? Facility for Airborne Atmospheric Measurements (FAAM)
Instrument Scientist / Engineer: Atmospheric Science
Location: FAAM, Cranfield University, Bedfordshire;
Full time, fixed term for 12 months, available immediately
Job sharing arrangements can be considered
You will be a highly motivated individual - with a background in the physical sciences or engineering ? and will work with airborne observational groups in atmospheric science, as an Instrument Research Scientist/Engineer. You will design, prepare, maintain and operate airborne research instruments for worldwide deployment.
You will have a bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience (and preferably a higher qualification) in physical science or a suitable engineering discipline, and be willing to work in the laboratory, on the atmospheric research aircraft and in the field, from a base at Cranfield. Although this post will be employed by the University of Leeds, it will be entirely based on the campus at Cranfield University.
There is the opportunity for those with a PhD and previous research experience to add a research remit to this role. This will involve active participation in the collaborative research programme in atmospheric technology.
University Grade 6 (?25,513 - ?30,434 p.a.) or University Grade 7 (?31,342 - ?37,394 p.a.)
