The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant for a short term project to assist members of the IFoA?s Resource and Environment Board (REB) in investigating the feasibility of extending the Actuaries Climate Index (ACI) to the UK and rest of Europe. Members of the REB have formed a scoping group for the duration of this project and the successful candidate will work alongside the members of the group.
Under the guidance of the Scoping and Review Group the duties of the research assistant will be to:
? analyse historical data availability in order to determine for which parts of Europe it is feasible to calculate the ACI.
? identify benefits and limitations of the ACI
? draft the report on the feasibility study.
It is anticipated that the project will require 80 hours of research work over a period of six weeks.
