Academic Positions in Atmospheric Physics and Atmospheric Environment. The School of Atmospheric Physics (http://web2.nuist.edu.cn/dqwlxy/sy/index.html in Chinese or http://en.nuist.edu.cn/AboutusSAP.jhtml in English) at the Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology, China (NUIST, the formally Nanjing Institute of Meteorology) invites applications for 6 full-time academic positions (professor/associate professor/lecturer) with a specialty in one of the following five areas:
Radiative transfer and remote sensing
Atmospheric electricity and lightning protection
Satellite and radar meteorology
Cloud dynamics and microphysics
Air pollution monitoring and modeling
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline by the date of the appointment; provide evidence of independent research capabilities in one of the research areas mentioned above, evidence of the ability to develop and sustain a high quality, externally funded research program, and evidence of teaching, mentoring and communication skills. Specific duties for the positions include: (1) engaging in scholarly activity/research; (2) teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level; (3) service and advising responsibilities normally expected of university faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to secure external funding to support his or her research program.
Qualified candidates will be offered settling-in allowance and an annual salary of 200,000 – 2,000,000 RMB, commensurate with qualifications, experience and the relevant policies of the university.
