Senior Research Associate in Atmospheric Chemistry Modelling
Applications are invited for a Senior Research Associate in the Centre for Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences at the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in the technical challenge of modifying and running a 3D global atmospheric model and the scientific challenge of understanding the changing chemical composition of the northern hemisphere troposphere over the last 60 years.
Experience in atmospheric science and numerical modelling and ideally hands-on experience with regional or global 3-D models (especially UM-UKCA) is highly desirable for this post. Candidates with a PhD in atmospheric or related sciences (or equivalent experience) are encouraged to apply.
This is a collaborative project with the University of Cambridge, involving staff from the National Centre for Atmospheric Science.
You must have a degree in atmospheric science or a related field and be able to fulfil the essential elements of the personal specification.
This full time post is available from 1 August 2016 for a fixed term period until 30th April 2018.
Closing date: 12 noon (British Summer Time) on 10th June 2016.

Dear Members:
There is an approved project position (JRF) available to work and
possibility of earning PhD from National Institute of Technology Rourkela,
Odisha India. The project is about urbanization and its impact on city
environment of Indian region. The candidate would be working partly on
remote sensing and GIS related analysis and party on numerical modelling
using WRF model. In view of this the candidate should have exposure to some
or all of the tools including FORTRAN/C programming, MATLAB, ERDAS/ARC-GIS,
numerical models like WRF, GRADS/NCL.
*Educational qualification*: MSc/MSc(Tech)/MTech in Atmospheric
Science/Meteorology/Remote Sensing and GIS/Physics/Mathematics. The
perspective candidate having MSc/MSc(Tech) degree should have a good
academic record and preferably GATE/NET qualified.
*Project duration*: Three years
*Place of work*: Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, National
Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha, India
