Postdoctoral Research in Atmospheric Chemistry.
We invite applications for a postdoctoral research associate to study aerosol composition after long-range transport in the North Atlantic free troposphere. Field measurements will be conducted at the Pico Mountain Observatory located in the Azores (Portugal). Aerosol measurements to evaluate aerosol aging and transport include OC/EC, WSOC, elemental ratios, isotopic ratios and radionuclides. This collaborative research project brings together investigators from Michigan Tech, University of Colorado and University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign and is focused on the chemical and radiative properties of aerosol. The successful candidate must be physically fit to hike up to the Observatory and be able to work independently in the Azores. The initial appointment will be for 1 year and may be extended up to 3 years. Candidates must have a PhD in atmospheric science, chemistry or related field and have field sampling experience. To apply, please send CV, a letter of interest and contact info for 3 references to Dr. Lynn Mazzoleni, Assist. Professor, Michigan Tech, +906-487-1853, lrmazzol@mtu.edu.
