Fugro GEOS is the world's leading supplier of meteorological and oceanographic (metocean) services for offshore and coastal engineering applications. Operating on a global basis with offices in UK, USA, UAE, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore and Australia, we offer metocean solutions through cost-effective, high quality and technically advanced measurement, consultancy, information systems, forecasting services and specialised structural engineering.
Fugro GEOS has an opening for a Data System Administrator with a degree in an IT related discipline. The chosen individual will be involved in the data management on Linux and Microsoft Windows server-platforms. The role would include the following activities:
* Configuration and maintenance of data collection and processing systems.
* Operational support of realtime systems and in-house datasets.
* Data management and publishing of various data-types in support of business activities.
Key skills would include experience in unix environments, C/C++, perl, Java, unix-shell scripting, and version-control systems, Apache-Tomcat and XML. Knowledge of THREDDS Data Server, and IDD/LDM technologies would be advantageous.
Closing date is 20 April 2012.
