Dear all,
The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and its Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research (Atmospheric Environmental Research, KIT/IMK-IFU) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, invites applications to the open position of a
PhD studentship, in the area of LES-/Boundary Layer Meteorology-modelling.
The position is within the IMK/IFU's newly established Helmholtz Young Investigators Group dealing with scales of biosphere-atmosphere exchange and the enigmatic energy balance closure problem (Transport Processes in the Atmospheric Boundary Layer). Expected tasks include the application of LES to evaluate the fractional contribution of large-scale convective transport near the surface, and conduct simulated field experiments under controlled flow conditions.
More details are provided in the attached PDF. Applications arriving before May 31st, 2012 will be given full consideration. For further information about KIT/IMK-IFU, see http://www.imk-ifu.kit.edu/.
Enquiries and applications including a short statement of motivation, CV, certificates, Master's thesis abstract, list of publications (if any) and contact information for two professional referees can be directed to
