The Facility for Airborne Atmospheric Measurements (FAAM), based at Cranfield University, is recruiting an Instrument Scientist or Instrument Engineer in Atmospheric Science.
You will be a highly motivated individual - with a background in the physical sciences or engineering – and will work with airborne observational groups in atmospheric science, as an Instrument Research Scientist/Engineer. You will design, prepare, maintain and operate airborne research instruments for worldwide deployment.
You will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (and preferably a higher qualification) in physical science or a suitable engineering discipline and be willing to work in the laboratory, on the atmospheric research aircraft and in the field. Employed by the University of Leeds, you will be a member of the FAAM team based at Cranfield.
There is the opportunity for those with a PhD and previous research experience to add a research remit to this role. This will involve active participation in the collaborative research programme in atmospheric technology.
The University of Leeds' commitment to women in science has been recognised with a national accolade. The University has received the Athena Swan Bronze Award in recognition of our success in recruiting, retaining and promoting women in Science, Engineering and Technology (SET).

PhD degree at CICESE (http://www.cicese.edu.mx), Baja California - Mexico.
The Physical oceanography Department is involved in the major oceanography
project in Mexico's recent history - the CIGOM project. Inside this
project, we are looking for enthusiastic students willing to join the
Ocean Modelling group and help in the development of physical numerical
models with state-of-the-art data assimilation schemes, biogeochemical
models and/or oil spill models for the Gulf of Mexico. The possible
research themes are broad and we cherish the freedom of thinking and
initiative.
All successful applications will be fully funded. Applications open next
May 16th. Classes are in Spanish.

The Department of the Geophysical Sciences at The University of
Chicago seeks to hire a postdoctoral researcher to support
investigations of the past Mars climate and atmosphere. The successful
candidate will work with Assistant Professor Edwin Kite to modify and
run Mars mesoscale models and Mars global climate models, and analyze
the output of those models. The emphasis of the work will be on
processes that operated early in Mars history and during the
transition from Mars' early wetter climate to the present dry climate.
Candidates should have a background in Planetary Science, Earth
Science, or Astrophysics, and experience with modifying sophisticated
numerical models. Start date is flexible.
The University of Chicago hosts a vibrant planets and exoplanets
research program, with particular emphasis on potentially habitable
planets:
