The Instituto de Astrof?sica de Andaluc?a (CSIC), Granada (Spain) invites applications for a post-doct contract to work on atmospheric chemistry and dynamics with the measurements taken by the MIPAS/Envisat and SABER/TIMED instruments.
The successful candidate will join the Group of Planetary Atmospheres of the Terrestrial Planets (GAPT, http://w3.iaa.es/GAPT/index.php/gb/) of the Solar System Department at the Instituto de Astrof?sica de Andaluc?a (CSIC) in Granada (Spain) to work on:
? Sun-Earth coupling and trends in temperature and composition in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere by using the MIPAS and SABER extensive datasets
? Retrieval of atmospheric temperature and composition from MIPAS spectra
? Non-LTE radiative transfer modelling
Candidates should have a PhD in Physics or Mathematics and experience in remote sensing of the atmosphere(s) (preferably including IDL and Fortran programming under Unix or Linux).
Salary is in the range 28.000 to 34.000 Euros (gross), depending on experience. The position is for a 1-year term, with possible extension to two more years.
Starting date is flexible but 1st July 2012 at the latest.
